Nine Lessons and Carols 2014

This recording is an experiment with a view to providing video for the website for future services. Much has been learned about the planning and recording of the services but more testing will be required before this can become a regular feature of the site.

As this video is in full 1080p HD resolution, it is a very large file (5.5GB) it will require a minimum of 2Mbs broadband and may take up to 60 seconds to commence playing. Do not under any circumstances attempt to play via a 3G or 4G mobile connection, this would probably incurr exceptional charges on your bill - no responsibility for mobile charges can be accepted if this advice is not followed.

This video will be available whilst testing is taking place and hopefully will remain if no technical problems exist, however, should the site be placed at risk the video will be removed. Any feedback - especially any difficulties experienced in playing the video - would be appreciated by using the feedback link at the bottom of the page.

Friends of Sefton Church - 21st Anniversary Service

Sefton Church celebrates the 21st anniversary of the Friends of Sefton Church - a society devoted to keeping the history, building and community spirit of Sefton Parish Church alive and well. During the service held on the 15th June 2014, a new bookcase and plaques created to celebrate the history of bellringing in the church were dedicated.

Service of Nine Lessons and Carols 2013

Sefton's annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols was held by candle and oil-light on the 18th of December 2013. Sadly, a faulty memory card rendered the recording of the first 15 minutes un-useable, however its replacement gave us the last 50 minutes of the service. We hope you enjoy this unfortunately shortened recording.

Tony Nightingale's Retirement Service

This service was held Sunday 25th August 2013, it was the first of the new format family service and the last service with Tony in charge of the organ and choir.

Royal Diamond Jubilee Service

This service to be held on June 10th 2012 will be available from June 11th

Service of Nine Lessons and Carols 2011

In December 2011, Sefton Parish Church held a fesival of nine lessons and carols by candlelight and lamplight. The choir were joined by the choir of St Michaels and the service was recorded. For those who were unable to attend or simply would like to be reminded of a wonderful service it is available here and due to popular demand, will remain here until December 2012.
